Designing and building accessible software solutions

To ensure that technology serves everyone, we develop digital solutions that are fully accessible and compliant with the European Accessibility Act (EAA). By integrating accessibility best practices directly into our design components, we make our digital products inherently inclusive. To establish development standards aligned with the EAA, we define and implement software according to the following key accessibility features:

Screenreaders & external keyboards

We create software solutions that remain fully accessible, also for users with visual or motoric impairments by integrating the support of external keyboards and screen readers like VoiceOver, NVDA, TalkBack, etc. . A clearly structured headline hierarchy as well as alternative text for images ensures orientation and reading comfort.

Integration of responsive, scalable components

By designing components to adapt seamlessly to various screen sizes, we provide a consistent and user-friendly experience across desktops, tablets, and smartphones. Our design process emphasizes highly legible fonts, appropriate color contrasts, and flexible layouts. This ensures that all content remains fully visible, even with enlarged text or on different devices.

Flexible in light and dark mode

We develop software that adapts to the preferences and needs of users: whether that is with a clear Light Mode or eye-friendly Dark Mode, the display remains harmonious, and easy to read at all times. This ensures a comfortable user experience in any lighting and improves readability in any environment. By supporting both modes, we enhance accessibility for users with visual sensitivities or light-related impairments.

Flexible designs in landscape mode

Our apps automatically adapt when a device is rotated to landscape mode, whether on a tablet, smartphone, or other device. By developing scalable components, we ensure that all interface elements remain perfectly arranged, readable, and visually balanced, no matter the screen size or orientation. Supporting landscape mode improves usability on wider screens and enhances accessibility, providing a more comfortable and inclusive UX.

An all-in-one software solution for telecommunications services Deliverables: App & website: We developed Edeka smart’s prepaid activation page and customer portal, both as a native app and website for Telekom Deutschland GmbH. All platforms of this all-in-one software solution for prepaid telecommunications services have been adapted to meet the requirements of the new European Accessibility Act.
