D.O.M. Digital Online Media
DOM GmbH was established as DOM Digital Online Media GmbH by Udo Noll and
Markus Schulte in Cologne, in 1995. In the year 2000, DOM was sold to plenum AG, and thence traded together under the name (among others) of plenum communication GmbH, with headquarters in Herrenberg. From 1st July, 2005, DOM - still a full subsidiary of plenum - will again be working under the name of DOM Digital Online Media GmbH, based in Cologne. At present, Dom employs a permanent staff of 25.
In Cologne the founders Markus Schulte and Udo Noll are regarded as pioneers on the internet scene. Both have been dealing with the subject of computers for more than 20 years, and were fascinated by the revolutionary innovative power of the internet right from the very beginning. The first network, enabling commercial use of the internet in Cologne, was operated by Schulte and Noll, and so it comes as no surprise that DOM returned a profit from the start. DOM has long since moved on from just local importance, although the firm is constantly in the home news through original events. In the meantime, large national and international companies such as Wella AG, T-Mobile or Bitburger belong to DOMís established clientele.
